RACE KIT REVEALED FOR THE 8TH EDITION OF THE TECHCOMBANK HO CHI MINH CITY INTERNATIONAL MARATHON

Ho Chi Minh City, November 7, 2025 – The flagship running event of Ho Chi Minh City – The 8th Edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon officially unveils its race kit, designed to reflect the City’s vision of becoming a world-class megacity.

The 8th Edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon is a signature community sports event of Ho Chi Minh City, organized under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation. Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) is the Title Sponsor, and Sunrise Events Vietnam is the Organizer.

The race kit of the 8th Edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon is inspired by the City’s development vision to become a world-class megacity. The set includes a drawstring bag, a race shirt, a finisher shirt for marathon runners, and a finisher medal.

The central visual elements of the kit combine three symbols: Ben Thanh Market – representing the City’s unique cultural and commercial identity; Binh Duong Administrative Center – symbolizing the dynamism of the new urban areas; and the Vung Tau Lighthouse – representing the intersection between the mainland and the sea. This concept not only honors the identity of each region but also conveys the spirit of connection between the three major economic centers and the City’s aspiration for growth after the merger.

The race kit is also the first symbol of pride for those who love, live, study, and work in Ho Chi Minh City during its first days as a new, expanded city. Besides its symbolic meaning, the kit is also highly practical – accompanying runners in their daily training so that each athlete continues to serve as an ambassador spreading healthy lifestyles, outstanding spirit, and the pride of the City’s people. This year, Xtep continues to be the Exclusive Apparel Sponsor, marking its fourth consecutive season accompanying the event to bring maximum comfort to runners.

Mr. Phạm Huy Bình, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, shared: “This year’s edition is a special sports–tourism highlight within the framework of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week, contributing to affirming the image of a dynamic, friendly, and vibrant metropolis. The race kit, designed based on the City’s post-merger landmarks, not only demonstrates the connection between sports and tourism but also reflects the direction of sustainable and innovative development in the new phase. We hope that this year’s event will continue to enhance the experience for runners and visitors, both domestic and international, thereby reinforcing Ho Chi Minh City’s position as one of the leading centers for tourism and sports in the region.”

Mr. Nguyễn Nam Nhân, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, emphasized: “The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon continues to be the City’s signature sporting event, playing an important role in promoting physical training, improving mental well-being, and strengthening social cohesion. Beyond its professional value, the event also holds profound cultural significance, contributing to the development of an active and healthy lifestyle among citizens. The Department of Culture and Sports expects that the event will continue to be a driving force for the development of mass sports while affirming the City’s pioneering role in sustainable cultural – sports – tourism development.”

Ms. Thái Minh Diễm Tú, Chief Marketing Officer of Techcombank, shared: “As the Title Sponsor, Techcombank is committed to a long-term and sustainable partnership with the marathon, constantly introducing breakthrough initiatives to create value and contribute to elevating the race – the new symbol of the City – in line with the spirit of ‘Run for a Greater Vietnam.”
Mr. Rob Zamacona, General Manager of Sunrise Events Vietnam, said, “The Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon is how we realize our vision to inspire 100 million Vietnamese people. We sincerely appreciate the cooperation of the authorities, strategic partners, and the running community. The Organizing Committee also aims for the event to achieve the prestigious World Athletics Label. In the future, we will continue to apply technology and smart data to personalize athlete journeys, expand digital and community engagement, and contribute to positioning Ho Chi Minh City as a leading destination for sports tourism in the region.”

In this 8th edition, Techcombank, together with the “Chạm Yêu Thương” Foundation, has launched the virtual charity run “Run for the Future of Vietnamese Children”, contributing VND 4.2 billion to support surgeries and rehabilitation for children with lower limb deformities, helping them have the opportunity to walk on their own feet. Through the VRUN platform, from October 27 to November 17, 2025, the virtual run opens participation opportunities nationwide, offering a new experience for the running community while raising funds for children’s surgeries and rehabilitation.

Constantly innovating with meaningful and impactful initiatives, the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon remains the largest and most prestigious community sports event in Vietnam. In 2025, the race named after the City is expected to attract over 20,000 domestic and international runners, continuing its mission to connect the community, promote Ho Chi Minh City tourism, spread the spirit of health and excellence, and elevate Vietnam’s marathon movement to the regional level.
